In Botswana, the education and training system developed over the past number of decades has become essentially unsuited to build the human capital required for a 21st century economy. The mismatch between job opportunities and skills of graduates contributes significantly to high rates of youth unemployment. This socio-economic context is forcing the public administration to act and improve the educational system and its governance. The overall EU funded program seeks to improve the educational system, strengthen TVET and ensure that women and other minority groups can access in equal conditions to the educational system. AARC’s team has been appointed to evaluate the last Budget Support for the Education Sector programme under the Human Resource Development Sector Policy Support Programme, deployed from 2010 to 2018.  The program was funded through the European Development Fund (EDF) programme.
